In The News: Forget about Iraq... Think about Afghanistan. US casualties increase dramatically and the generals want to move 16,000 troops out of Iraq to the Afghani war. Intelligence says the Pakistani border is porous to weapons smuggling. The military is requesting 600 - 1000 MRAP IED/mine-resistant battle trucks even as General Motors shuts down it's domestic truck assembly lines and sells off it's Hummer/Bummer division.

The president will give a press talk this morning about the economic crisis. The Federal Reserve will print up a bunch of money and the government will bail out the MACs and MAEs, Freddie and Fannie.

The executive order banning offshore drilling will be lifted, but the congressional ban remains... for now.

...and there are 35 business days left in this years congressional session.

There are now 4119 dead American troops due to the continuing military rape of Iraq, and the al Maliki government is demanding a timetable for withdrawal before further security negotiations.

In light of the commentary topic, here's the state of American Consumer Confidence
